One of the FOP's guiding principles has always been “Standing by Those Who Stand with Us” and there are few areas that this philosophy is more important than in the political arena. Here in Charlotte County, one of our most steadfast supporters has been Commissioner Stephen R. Deutsch and I am proud to announce that he is running for re-election as our District 4 Commissioner in 2018 – and it’s time for us to stand by him like he has stood by us.
Endorsement for political office by the FOP is more than just putting our name and emblem on a sign or a mailer. Our true strength comes from our ability to put boots on the ground and get the job done. We proved that during Charley and Irma and now it is time for us to prove it again.
Part of the political process involves getting petition cards signed and Stephen R needs approximately 1,400. On Monday, September 25, from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM, please stop by Republican Headquarters, which is located at 2171 Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte, grab a bumper sticker for your car and pick up some petitions.
Don’t live in Charlotte County? That’s OK – I’m sure you can think of a few registered voters who do. Can’t make it on September 25th? Call or e-mail me and one of us will bring petitions and bumper stickers to you.
There is no single area more critical to our success than showing both our friends AND our opponents that there is strength in our numbers. Taking an hour out of your schedule for one day to get a couple of petition cards signed can make all the difference.
